The Jacksonville Jaguars fired Gus Bradley on Sunday, ending one of the least successful coaching tenures in NFL history. Owner Shad Khan announced the decision following a 21-20 loss at Houston, in which the Jaguars (2-12) blew a nine-point lead in the fourth quarter. Khan considered the move in late October, following a debacle at Tennessee on national television, but opted to keep Bradley for seven more weeks.

The Steelers took control of the AFC North by doing a little bit of everything during a month-long winning streak: throwing it, running it, playing some steely defense. Chris Boswell tied the club record with six field goals, and Ben Roethlisberger threw a touchdown pass in the fourth quarter Sunday, rallying Pittsburgh to a 24-20 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals that kept the Steelers in control of the division. ”We’ve said we’ll win the game how we have to win it,” Roethlisberger said.

Defense wins championships, and right now the New York Giants are convincing many that they might be the NFL’s best. In the past two games, Steve Spagnuolo’s group has limited division leaders Dallas and Detroit to a total of 13 points, and Sunday’s 17-6 win over the Lions on Sunday came in a game where top cornerback Janoris Jenkins left early in the second quarter with a back injury. Add in another Odell Beckham Jr. one-hand touchdown catch to delight replay fanatics and the Giants have inched closer to their first playoff berth since 2011, and maybe more, with a win that snapped the NFC North-leading Lions’ five-game winning streak.

Titans coach Mike Mularkey simply wanted to win, so he chose to try a 2-point conversion in the closing minutes in Kansas City rather than let Ryan Succop kick the tying extra point. Turns out Succop just needed to keep warm a little bit longer. After the Titans failed on their conversion attempt, they forced the Chiefs to punt the ball back with about a minute left.
