Max Scherzer strikes out nine as Nationals edge Phillies, 2-1

Max Scherzer turned in a vintage performance Friday evening against the Philadelphia Phillies, striking out nine batters and giving up just one run over 7.2 innings as the Washington Nationals earned a 2-1 win.
