The Dominican Republic faced off against Nicaragua in the World Baseball Classic and it didn’t disappoint. DR started off hot, scoring in the first inning thanks to Rafael Dever’s RBI double. Eloy Jiménez’s RBI knock in the third inning gave the Dominican Republic a 2-0 lead. DR would go on to score two more runs in the fourth inning, plus two monster home runs from Juan Soto and Manny Machado in the sixth. Nicaragua would go on to score one run in the eighth thanks to Elian Miranda. The Dominican Republic would go on to win 6-1.
