All eyes were on Kyle Bush for the 2023 Alsco Uniforms 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway after he won the Truck Series on Friday night. John Hunter Nemechek, fresh off his Fontana win, captured the opening stage. Austin Hill won Stage 2 under caution after Rajah Caruth’s spin. Hill passed Chandler Smith on the final lap taking the checkered flag. Justin Allgaier placed 2nd, Smith ended up finishing in third and Kyle Bush placed fourth.

LAFC started the 2023 MLS season in style, as they celebrated their 2022 MLS Cup Championship in their home opener against the Portland Timbers. The Timbers and LAFC were deadlock until Giorgio Chiellini’s goal from a corner in the 24th minute unlocked the festivities. Once LAFC were on board, they were clicking as Carlos Vela added a goal just minutes later and Kwadwo Opoku scored a goal in the 52nd minute. The Timbers mounted a furious comeback late in the second half through Evander and Cristhian Paredes’ goal in the 62nd and 84th minutes. However, it wasn’t enough as LAFC were able to hold on to a 3-2 victory against the Timbers.
