NFL owners approved the Oakland Raiders’ move to Las Vegas at the league meetings on Monday. The vote was a foregone conclusion after the league and Raiders were not satisfied with Oakland’s proposals for a new stadium, and Las Vegas stepped up with $750 million in public money. Bank of America also is giving Raiders owner Mark Davis a $650 million loan, further helping convince the owners to allow the third team relocation in just over a year.

White Sox Catcher Omar Narvaez Is One To Keep An Eye On

The Chicago White Sox’s catching situation has been a bit unsettled this spring. Four different backstops, ranging from non-roster invitee Roberto Peña to non-roster invitee and 12-year major-league veteran Geovany Soto, have between 20 and 30 at-bats for the South Siders—and that’s not even counting top prospect Zack…

American tennis fans should take heart: their 19-year-old prodigy Frances Tiafoe caused the GOAT some woe, at least for a little while. Laundry Is The Worst Thing In The World

Years ago, a friend told me that sweeping is the worst possible chore. My God, she was wrong. I took a screencap of her being wrong and would show it to other people, and they would gaze at it and say, “My word, look at that person being wrong.” That’s how wrong it was. Everyone agrees laundry is objectively the worst…

It's Getting Worse For The Clippers

When we last checked in on the Los Angeles Clippers, they had just dropped a game to the Denver Nuggets and were settling into their usual pre-playoff slump. They followed that loss with three straight wins, albeit against a Big Three-less Cleveland Cavs, the tanking Los Angeles Lakers, and the dysfunctional New York…

You Can Do A Lot Of Role-Playing In The PS4's Latest Baseball Game

When Sony says MLB The Show 17 includes a third-person baseball role-playing game, they aren’t exaggerating. I’m not just playing baseball. I’m role-playing a character who’s playing baseball, and he’ll be damned if he’s drafted by the Florida Marlins.

Oakland’s mayor asked NFL owners to delay voting on a proposed move by the Raiders to Las Vegas, wanting to give her city a chance to negotiate with a small group of owners to complete a stadium deal at the Coliseum site. The league was set to vote Monday on the relocation, with the Raiders needing 24 of 32 owners to approve the move to a $1.7 billion stadium in Las Vegas that will be ready for play in 2020. ”Never that we know of has the NFL voted to displace a team from its established market when there is a fully financed option before them with all the issues addressed,” Mayor Libby Schaaf said in a statement.
